The solar panels collect the energy from the sun during daytime and the photovoltaic cells converts the collected energy into electrical energy, which is stored in the battery to produce light at night. In the traditional lanterns, the battery is charged to an electric outlet to get energy, but in solar lantern, the battery is charged by solar energy.
